The youngest of a family of eight children, Justin Eba Dimbeng demonstrated at a very young age his attraction for his traditional culture, spirituality and music which he started, alongside his older brother Charles Edouard Dimbeng.

After advanced training as a pianist with Claude Eyango and then his father, the Grand Master Daniel Doumbe Eyango (1914 – 2006), Justin at 11 years old was accepted into the Son’a Club, the Cultural Center of Artistic Research and Musical Education in Douala – Cameroon, where he very quickly became the Lead pianist.

In this “conservatory” in addition to learning choir management, Justin was introduced and learned to play saxophone, clarinet, slide trombone, baritone, tuba, German flute and guitar.

His meteoric rise made him a very close collaborator of Daniel Doumbe Eyango, who encouraged him to compose.

Appointed conductor of Sona Club and helped by his mentor fellow instrumentalist, Justin developed a training section for young musicians and vocal groups, from which several woodwind players made their entry into the Son’a Club, including Valerie Ekwalla, Titty Epale Remi and Embe Charles.

In high school, Justin could not resist the call of his predecessor, Alain Epanya (Castro), who was in search of a successor to assume leadership of the “Lycee Technique de Douala Koumassi’s band” (LTDK). Justin became the Bass player and leader of the band from 2004 to 2007.

Justin regularly collaborates with many African and European musicians and great masters, and he participated in the Playing For Philharmonie 2016 project, organized by the Société Générale in France.

in May 2009, Justin founded the choir and instruments ensemble, “Les Lucioles.” This Group was created in order to continue the purpose of the training section Justin developed when he was the conductor of the Son’a Club. The goals of the training section were teaching, composition collection of great Cameroonian Masters, transcribing music as well as printing, publishing and performing these works.

Justin also Directed the “Choeur Familial de Douala” choir and the “Société Générale Cameroun” choir with which he performed in several concerts in “La Philharmonie de Paris” in France.

At the same time as his musical studies, Justin continued his higher education and obtained a Diploma in Accounting Finance Audit and Management Control. Employed by Société Générale Cameroun for 8 years, he has alternately held the positions of Permanent Controller, Financial Officer and Reporting, Manager of the Administrative Department in Risk Direction. He left the company to settle in the United States after the sudden death of his mother in July, 2016 in Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition to his many occupations, Justin also pursues his teaching of musical techniques and instrumental practice. Currently, he also serves as the Music Director of the “Ramapo reformed church” in Mahwah, New Jersey in the United States.
